what is mindfulness?

Mindfulness is such a nice practice,
it really should be called mindfulnice.

Mindfulness is simply a way of paying attention, on purpose & with intention, to whatever is happening in our lives, at the present moment.  When we are being mindful, we pay close attention to what is happening around us, but also inside of us - we pay attention to our thoughts, feelings, and actions. Mindfulness is not just about our own thoughts, feelings, and actions, however. It is also about recognizing & focusing on our unique interactions and relationships with everything in the world around us. Mindfulness will not eliminate the stress of daily life, but it can help us respond to our stress in a calmer, healthier manner that benefits our mind & body.  Practicing mindfulness allows us to be fully present in our life, which greatly improves the quality of our life. Practicing mindfulness can make us happier, mentally & physically healthier, more creative, and more in control of our emotions. With scientific evidence showing the benefits of mindfulness, it naturally makes sense that people are turning to Mindfulness as a healthy practice to improve their quality of life. Children are greatly benefiting from Mindfulness Education in their classrooms by learning life skills to live a more balanced life. Studies have shown that students who practice mindfulness in their schools have overall higher achievement test scores, are more creative, kinder, happier, & more likely to manage stress and anxiety in a healthy manner. It is never too late to start practicing mindfulness. Practicing for even just a few minutes everyday is very beneficial for overall good health.
